According to its LinkedIn page, Bitstamp is the world’s longest-standing cryptocurrency exchange. Bitstamp has been involved in the Bitcoin business and economy since 2011. The company claims that Bitstamp has a proven track record and mature approach to the industry, which guarantees a secure and transparent venue to more than four million customers and business partners to access the emerging crypto markets through time-proven infrastructure.

In addition to Bitcoin, Bitstamp also supports other cryptocurrencies such as Litecoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, and more. The company continues to add more assets to its portfolio to increase the accessibility for its users. The company was founded by Damijan Merlak and Nejc Kodric in 2011. Its headquarter is located in London in the United Kingdom with additional offices in Luxembourg and Berkeley in California.

According to Crunchbase, Bitstamp has raised a total of $12.4M in funding over 2 rounds. Their latest funding round was finished on January 5, 2017. Gabriel Jarrosson and Pantera Capital are some of their key investors which help Bitsamp with funding and expansion of their services. In addition to this, Bitstamp also participates in investment by investing in Koto Labs on June 19, 2014. At the time of writing, Bitstamp has 10 core team members including COO Vasja Zupan, with 3 board members and advisors including Nejc Kodric.
