Decentralized computing network
Golem is developing a decentralized cloud ecosystem where users and computer applications can rent other users’ machines to help with their computing activity. Anyone from individual PC users to the large data centers can share resources with Golem and earn GNT as its rewards.
Golem uses an Ethereum-based transaction system to settle payments between participants that participate in decentralized computing activity, such as providers, requestors, developers, and so on. All computations on the network take place in sandboxed environments, fully isolated from the hosts’ systems to avoid malware, viruses, and other malicious activities.
The project was launched in 2016. Golem’s headquarter is currently located in Warsaw, Poland.
