Litecoin Foundation is a non-profit entity incorporated in Singapore with representatives across the globe who share the goal of spreading Litecoin for the benefit of society through the creation and advancement of state-of-the-art blockchain technology.
Litecoin or LTC itself is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency that aims to enable fast and low-cost payments to anyone in the world, created as an alternative to Bitcoin by modifying Bitcoin codebase. It was created and by Charlie Lee, a former Coinbase employee, with support from multiple members in the Bitcoin community. Since its inception in 2011, Litecoin has gained a significant market share.
The Litecoin Core Developers group includes all Litecoin software developers. While the core team is different from the Litecoin Foundation, the Litecoin Foundation works closely and financially supports the core team.
