Open-source public blockchain
QTUM is an open-source blockchain aiming for socio-technical application suitability, adoption of formal semantics language expressiveness, and smart-contract template-libraries provision. QTUM blockchain combines PoS consensus algorithm with UTXO model using Account Abstraction Layer.
QTUM supports multiple virtual machines like Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and x86 VM, and several programming languages including C, C++, Python, and Rust. QTUM blockchain has its native coin called QTUM to fuel transactions on the QTUM blockchain. QTUM also has a decentralized governance protocol to modify a predefined list of parameters such as the gas cost and block-size. QTUM is launched in 2016 and headquartered in Singapore.
