So far this year, crypto-related platforms have started to partner with sport clubs and competitions. In May, Crypto.com became the first crypto platform to sponsor the Coppa Italia of Lega Serie A – a popular Italian football league.
Some days ago, Crypto.com—a crypto exchange—announced its most recent partnership with Lega Serie A to be the “Innovation & Technology Partner of Italian Football.”
As the tech partner, Crypto.com will basically help in presenting three things during the course of the league: the Goal Line Technology, Virtual Assistant Referee, and goal of the month award.
GLT will be needed to ascertain whether a goal is rightfully scored, while VAR is for replays for transparency when necessary. Sequel to that, the VAR centre of Lega Serie A will henceforth be regarded as “Crypto.com VAR Centre.”
While remarking on the need for the new partnership and the intention of Crypto.com concerning it, Kris Marszalek—the CEO of Crypto.com—says, “VAR has brought greater transparency and reliability to football. We are extremely proud to deepen our partnership with Lega Serie A to enhance the fan experience with technology and innovation at the core.”
On the other hand, CEO of Lega Serie A—in the person of Luigi De Siervo quipped thus: “This multi-year agreement confirms the strength of our brand worldwide and through this unique partnership with Crypto.com. We will write a new page of innovation, bringing our fans closer to the game through technology.”
On a final note, both parties promised to make more projects together in the future and launch some NFT collectibles as well.
