In the early hours of today, FTX announced that Stephen Curry is now its Global Ambassador and Shareholder. This happened a day after Stephen tweeted that he would like to venture into crypto.
FTX, one of the leading global exchanges, for some time now has been partnering with football clubs. This new deal with Stephen, experts say, would bring FTX into much visibility among Basketball fans.
Stephen Curry is a popular and award-winning basketball player for the Golden State Warriors. The National Basketball Association has awarded him, for two times, as its Most Valuable Player. Stephen is a man of many hats as he is also a philanthropist and entrepreneur.
As the new Global Ambassador of FTX, he would—through different means—be expanding the wings of FTX and bring the exchange before a fresh class of audience.
In addition, FTX announced that it would be contributing annually to the Eat.learn.play Foundation, a charity organization that Stephen and his wife founded. The foundation centred on nutrition, learning, and sports among little children.
In an interview with PRNewsWire, a media outlet, Stephen Curry commented thus: “I’m excited to partner with a company that demystifies the crypto space and eliminates the intimidation factor for first-time users.”
This is neither the first partnership deal that FTX would be making with sport clubs nor is this its first charity donation. The exchange closed a $17.5 million deal with Cal Athletics and donated $200k to the city of Berkeley.
