On Thursday, 23rd of September, FTX announced a long-term partnership with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team. This is one of the latest intrusions of the cryotoverse into motorsports. While the parties didn’t disclose the exact span of the contract, they however noted that it would be for “multiple race seasons”.
This was what the CEO of FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried, said with regards to the partnership:
“FTX is thrilled to partner with the reigning Formula One World Champions and current team point leaders, Mercedes-AMG Petronas. We look forward to watching Lewis Hamilton continue to challenge for his potential eighth Formula One World Drivers’ Championship title.”
This collaboration will enable the logo of FTX to be featured on several items and property of the Mercedes-AMG team. Fans will notice these new brand identity changes starting from the Russian Grand Prix on Sunday – 26th of September.
The logo of FTX will show on the Mercedes-Benz trucks of the team and the tracksides. Beyond the logo, FTX now have access to the team members with respect to its “marketing initiatives”. Just like all the recent crypto-sport partnerships, the parties notified the public that they would mint NFTs in the future.
