Capital International, a financial services corporation, has invested more than half a billion dollars in MicroStrategy shares.
MicroStrategy reported to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, or SEC, that Capital International Investors had bought 953,242 shares of its stock in the second quarter of 2021.
MicroStrategy’s stock price climbed more than 1.5 percent following the SEC filing, to $628.44 at the time of publishing, valuing Capital International’s shares at over $600 million.
According to reports, Capital International did not possess any MicroStrategy shares as of March 31 in its Q1 2021 SEC filing.
MicroStrategy, which said last year that it will acquire more than $250 million in Bitcoin (BTC), has already bought 105,085 BTC, which is valued at more than $3.5 billion at the time of publication.
Last month, the firm said it will “finance $400 million aggregate principal amount of senior secured notes in a private sale” in order to acquire more Bitcoin.
MicroStrategy’s stock price dropped by more than 2% after the company increased its debt offering to $500 million and acquired $489 million in cryptocurrency.
