The management of PortAventura World, a Spanish entertainment resort center, publicized that it is building a software that would allow its guests settle hotel bills in Bitcoin. This would be available in commemoration of six new hotels that the resort will be adding.
The resort center, through its spokesman, noted that a great number of guests have been in talks regarding paying in Bitcoin. Thus, PortAventura World added the Bitcoin payment option to ensure that it follows “latest customer trends”.
As from next year, the guests have two options of payment; fiat and Bitcoin. They can choose anyone that they want. If it is the case that a guest wants to pay in Bitcoin, he would be directed to fund the resort center’s Bitcoin address.
The company also hopes to create better modes of interaction with its guests. According to the release, PortAventura is working towards building its website and mobile application to enhance its user experience.
With respect to this, the MD of PortAventura, David García Blancas, commented thus:
“At PortAventura World, we are deeply immersed in a process of digital acceleration with the aim of improving the experience of our visitors and continuing to promote new and innovative ways of entertainment.”
Although the management of PortAventura World did not disclose the exact date that they will open the six new hotels, it’s however stated that it would be the “beginning of the 2022 season”.
Announcements like this are no longer new in the cryptoverse. As Coinbench reported in August, a 5-Star luxury Swiss hotel, the Chadi, has been accepting payment in crypto. Experts predict that, with the look of things, there will be an increase in adoption of crypto as a general mode of payment in the future.
