Shop.com, an American e-commerce website, announced its partnership with Bitpay – a big crypto payment infrastructure provider. Through this partnership, Shop.com will be accepting cryptocurrency on its websites.
Steve Ashley, the Chief Operation Officer of Shop.com., revealed this in a recent convention of the company entitled “Market America Worldwide Shop.com 2021 International Convention.” There he went further to explain that the users of Shop.com can make their payment in Bitcoin and other altcoins.
As a result, the users of Shop.com in their existing countries are going to enjoy this option of paying in crypto during checkouts. The COO noted that this integration into cryptocurrency is imperative looking at the wider adoption of crypto in the online marketplaces.
“Credit cards are not everywhere… Bitpay and crypto is the cheapest, quickest payment option to accept Bitcoin and to receive crypto payment options as well,” the CCO of Bitpay commented in regards to the partnership.
Founded in 2011, Bitpay is an Atlanta-based tech company with prime focus on providing Bitcoin payment infrastructure. At the moment, the company claims to be the second largest Bitcoin payment processor in the world.
Bitpay operates in a B2B approach – helping businesses to accept payments in cryptocurrency whenever their customers are buying items from them. It then converts it to fiat for the business.
Shop.com is an online shopping store under the Market America business group. The shopping store offers a comparative outlook for the buyers to have wider options of purchase.
