Blockchain technology offers a lot of possibilities to humanity – not only the financial aspects alone. Its relevance spans across voting, healthcare databases, accountancy, and sports.
TheRollNumber, an Indian blockchain-based Startup, announced that it raised an undisclosed sum as a pre-seed for its project. TheRollNumber focuses on providing the blockchain infrastructure for bodies and individuals to keep records.
The Startup keeps certificates – birth, death, educational, and so on. Thereby making it to be more secured, organized, and cost-friendly. In addition, TheRollNumber helps recruiters to run background-checks on their interviewees within a short timeframe.
Noticing that 30% of Indian universities lack a proper digitization of certificates, TheRollNumber is currently doing it for free in exchange for bringing those universities into its block chain network.
Three investors jointly contributed to the success of this pre-seed. They are Rudraksh ventures, India Accelerator, and Artha Venture Fund. With this pre-seed, the Startup hopes to develop his products properly.
“We are elated to invest in The RollNumber as the blockchain segment has erupted in the tech industry and is coming up with new innovations. After witnessing the companies fast revenue growth and strategic commitment to their product, we were determined to led this round,” says the Managing Director of Artha Venture Fund.
TheRollNumber’s CEO, Sai Raghavendra Sharma said this in his final address: “India’s credential system is an extremely sensitive and fragmented area. We believe blockchain could bring a huge impact and help reduce the fake and fraudulent credentials circulating in the market…”
